Slack reminders

Post Lapsewise reminders into a Slack channel so your whole team sees upcoming renewals and expiries, not just the record owner.

Slack reminders

Alongside email (and SMS on Pro), Lapsewise can post reminders into a Slack channel — so the whole team sees what's coming up, not just the individual owner. Great for ops, finance, and compliance teams who want shared visibility.

Setup

  1. In Slack, create an Incoming Webhook for the channel you want reminders posted to (Slack → Apps → Incoming Webhooks → Add to a channel).
  2. Copy the webhook URL.
  3. In Lapsewise notification settings, paste the Slack webhook URL and enable Slack reminders.
  4. Reminders for due records will post to that channel.

When to use it

  • Shared accountability — a #renewals or #compliance channel where the team sees every upcoming date.
  • Backup to email — even if an owner misses their email, the team catches it in Slack.
  • Handover safety — if someone's away, the channel still surfaces their due items.

Tips

  • Use a dedicated channel (e.g. #renewals) so reminders don't get lost in busy general chat.
  • Combine with owner assignment: email nudges the owner, Slack keeps the team informed.
  • Keep the webhook URL private — anyone with it can post to that channel.

FAQ

Do I need a paid plan for Slack reminders? Slack posting uses a simple incoming webhook. Check your plan's notification features in Plans & billing.

Can I post to multiple channels? Configure the webhook for the channel you want team-wide visibility in; use a channel the relevant people are in.

Will it include the record details? Yes — the reminder names the record and its due date so the team knows what needs action.
