Memberships module

The Memberships module tracks recurring memberships and subscriptions: professional bodies, trade associations, industry memberships, chambers of commerce, and recurring service subscriptions. Like contracts, these often auto-renew — so Lapsewise is notice-period aware here too.

What it tracks

• The membership and provider
• The renewal date (and any notice period)
• Annual/recurring fee
• Membership number and the owner responsible
• The membership document or invoice (PDF)

Key dates

• Renewal date — when the membership rolls over.
• Notice deadline — if you must cancel ahead of renewal, capture the notice period so Lapsewise warns you before the window closes (see Notice periods).

A worked example

A firm holds memberships in three professional bodies and two trade associations. Each renews annually; two auto-renew with a 30-day cancellation window. Lapsewise reminds the owner before each notice deadline, so the team consciously decides to keep or drop each membership rather than being charged by default.

• Capture the fee so you can review value at renewal time.
• For auto-renewing memberships, always set the notice period.

FAQ

How is this different from Contracts? Memberships are a focused view for association/subscription-style renewals; mechanically they remind the same way (including notice-period awareness). Use whichever module fits how you think about the item.

Can I track per-person memberships? Yes — one record per membership, each with its own renewal date and owner.
